Independent Study’s vision is to promote art book culture and appreciation in the city of Calgary and in Alberta featuring independent book sellers, publishers, and artists. This is not a traditional art book fair. Independent Study is a pop up reading room with some of the best art and photo books from artists, galleries, and bookstores in Alberta for purchase and browsing.
I started this project because of my own personal passion for art and photo books. My desire is to see more people in Alberta understand and embrace new ideas about books and concepts of the art and artist book. I plan to have more pop ups, workshops, and collaborative events to feature more independent booksellers and artists.
